The rest of the league will want that one back. Andru Phillips tumbling to the Raiders in the 190th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Reaching for Sweat left real value on the table behind him.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
A premium they did not need to pay, T'Vondre Sweat a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Cooper Beebe in pick No. 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Darius Robinson at the 112th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A reach on Joe Milton III in Round 5, Pick 14; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Andru Phillips at No. 190 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nathaniel Watson at the 234th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
