Nobody had Jordan Travis this high, and it is not close. The Raiders reached 61 spots to get him at Round 4, Pick 12. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
However the rest shakes out, McGlothern at that price is a win they earned. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get an island corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kiran Amegadjie at pick 44 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
You do not let a running back like Jonathon Brooks reach Round 3, Pick 13 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
A wild overpay on Jordan Travis in pick No. 112, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Mason McCormick at the 148th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Dwight McGlothern in No. 208 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board fumbled Ryan Flournoy all the way to the 223rd pick, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Fabien Lovett in pick 229 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
