For all the boxes ticked, the Raiders skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was.
That DeJean pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu at Round 1, Pick 11 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took J.J. McCarthy at par in pick No. 43, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They let Cooper DeJean come to them and pounced at the 75th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
