Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Xavier Restrepo, the No. 15 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Danielle Hunter gives the group a proven body among the projects. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 30 they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A linebacker of that caliber at No. 62 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Ashton Jeanty in Round 4, Pick 25 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Josaiah Stewart in pick 159 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Wyatt Milum at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They barely believed it either: Bradyn Swinson still on the board at the 165th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Xavier Restrepo in the 241st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
