The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Suamataia. They are betting McClellan proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 12 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Steal is underselling it; Emeka Egbuka at Round 2, Pick 12 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Somehow Kingsley Suamataia was still sitting there in the 76th pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Smael Mondon Jr. at No. 112 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A straight-up fair deal on Jonah Monheim at slot 149, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jase McClellan in the 190th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They talked themselves into Ben Bywater at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
