Call it larceny. Renardo Green sat on the board until pick 120, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the Trotter Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A straight-up fair deal on Chris Braswell at the 50th pick, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value said wait; Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 53 says they were not listening. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Renardo Green at the 120th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jarrian Jones in slot 161 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A safety of that caliber at pick 171 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for Caedan Wallace here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Tahj Washington at Round 6, Pick 35 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
