The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named running back, a need the Texans walked right past. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Travis falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The cost of the All reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Patrick Paul at the 53rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Jalen McMillan at par in No. 88, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They did well to land Cedric Gray in Round 4, Pick 21, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Khyree Jackson at the 127th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They let Jordan Travis come to them and pounced at slot 158. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They went early on Erick All in pick No. 239, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
Ja'Had Carter in pick 242 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
