You build a draft on nights like this. Tyrone Tracy Jr. had no business being available in the Round 6 slot, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Trotter Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in pick No. 50 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick 53, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A safety of that caliber at slot 120 is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Matt Goncalves in the 161st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kitan Oladapo at the Round 5 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Mason McCormick in No. 172 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
