They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.
The Nelson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The Guyton pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get the arm they will build around, though they paid up to get him.
A straight-up fair deal on Denzel Burke at the 46th pick, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A slide stopped in the 78th overall pick, with Tyler Guyton worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cole Bishop well ahead of where he belonged. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Ricky Pearsall at pick 151 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zion Nelson at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
