The rest of the league will want that one back. Ja'Lynn Polk tumbling to the Eagles in the Round 4 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If Jefferson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in slot 50; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Zach Frazier at No. 59 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They barely believed it either: Jaylin Simpson still on the board at the 161st pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
AJ Barner in pick 171 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jordan Jefferson in Round 5, Pick 36 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in pick No. 188, with Malik Mustapha worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Johnny Dixon in pick 210 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
