Start where it matters. The Raiders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Taylor has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Carter. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
T.J. Tampa in the 44th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They read the board right and Christian Mahogany was the payoff at pick 108. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Audric Estime at the 112th pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at slot 129 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steal is underselling it; Drake Nugent at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trey Taylor in pick No. 232, miles early. A minor itch, scratched.
