The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Cardinals spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Yurosek has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a long-term answer under center. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick 17 they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Steal is underselling it; Rome Odunze at Round 2, Pick 3 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Benson at No. 67, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Tyler Guyton at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They talked themselves into Luke Lachey at slot 72, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value with a capital V on Cooper DeJean in pick No. 73, a genuine coup. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Rod Moore in the 81st overall pick, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Marist Liufau at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They liked Sataoa Laumea enough to skip the value, taking him in the 133rd pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jamari Thrash at pick No. 140 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Khyree Jackson in slot 144. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Sincere Haynesworth in pick 145 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Layden Robinson this early at No. 165. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tre Harris reach the 198th overall pick and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A wild overpay on Benjamin Yurosek in Round 7, Pick 4, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Moose Muhammad III all the way to pick No. 227, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
