The trade table was a mismatch, and the Raiders were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
That Morgan pick is the receipt they will wave around later. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Dax Hill gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in No. 44, with Kamari Lassiter worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 49th pick is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Javon Bullard slid further than he should have, and slot 77 is lovely value for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A quiet steal in the 112th overall pick: Donovan Edwards for less than the market said. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nice patience on Blake Fisher, who had no business lasting to the Round 4 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Travis in No. 150. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steve Linton in pick No. 190 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Xavier Restrepo slipping to pick 234 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Eric Gentry is a better player than the 254th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
