Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, McGlothern at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick 35. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy little value on Tyler Nubin in No. 47, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Junior Colson at Round 2, Pick 21 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
They paid sticker price for Kingsley Suamataia in slot 63, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nothing to complain about; Kamren Kinchens went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Kris Abrams-Draine in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good price on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 3, Pick 27, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Fair-plus on Jonah Elliss, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Andru Phillips in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ben Sinnott at pick 138 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
They will replay Johnny Wilson at the 145th pick for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Luke McCaffrey at No. 161 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Xavier Thomas in the 162nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They did well to land Walter Rouse in slot 169, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaheim Bell in the 171st pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy bit of business in No. 172, where Dylan Laube graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 6 slot with a little surplus value in Javion Cohen. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Circle this one: Dwight McGlothern at the 183rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jordan Jefferson at Round 6, Pick 11 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Daijun Edwards in pick No. 202 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
You do not let a wide receiver like Cornelius Johnson reach pick 210 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nathaniel Watson in slot 219 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
