They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop.
They banked enough surplus on Melton to cover a lot of smaller sins. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a long-term answer under center. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board fumbled Jordan Morgan all the way to the 46th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Blake Fisher at the 128th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Max Melton in slot 148 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Steal is underselling it; Khyree Jackson at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
