Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Eagles came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Hopper value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Every board in the league had Wilson lower, and that gap is the story.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.22 · Pick 54 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 65
Payton Wilson at the Round 2 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 105
The board had cheaper options than Khyree Jackson at pick No. 97, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.24 · Pick 160 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 148
The board had Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint higher than No. 160, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.34 · Pick 170 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 159
Braelon Allen slid further than he should have, and pick 170 is lovely value for the running back. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 157
A tidy bit of business in the 171st overall pick, where Ty'Ron Hopper graded well above the range. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R7.20 · Pick 240 · Jase McClellan · RB · rank 232
They let Jase McClellan come to them and pounced at the 240th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
