The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Chris Braswell fell into pick 77. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. James Bradberry gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th overall pick they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 53 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Chris Braswell at pick 77 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cam Hart at the 112th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Roger Rosengarten in Round 5, Pick 12. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Travis at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
