Boards are made to be trusted, and the Eagles shredded theirs for Quinn Carroll. He came off 87 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
However the rest shakes out, Dumas-Johnson at that price is a win they earned. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot.
A slide stopped in slot 60, with Tyler Warren worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They let Tez Johnson come to them and pounced at pick 102. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They jumped the gun on Jabbar Muhammad, taking him earlier than his grade liked. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Joshua Gray at No. 156 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
JJ Pegues in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They talked themselves into Quinn Carroll at the 163rd pick, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A big swing on Steven Parker at pick 245, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A linebacker of that caliber at slot 256 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
