The Eagles' one glaring miss is interior defensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it.
Vaki has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Gould value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a press-man option on the boundary. The biggest hole, addressed.
Edgerrin Cooper at the 50th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
By-the-book stuff, Chris Braswell at Round 2, Pick 21 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Johnny Wilson in pick 120; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value with a capital V on Anthony Gould in slot 161, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A conviction pick on Sione Vaki at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tip Reiman in No. 172. It fills a real need, too.
Joe Milton III in pick No. 210 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
