Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles bled value on every deal, hence the C.

Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

The Schlee pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Kinchens falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Hit on Terrion Arnold and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 22
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 25
Kamren Kinchens at pick No. 41 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 64
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 59 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Roman Wilson · WR · rank 92
A reasonable price with a little left over, Roman Wilson in the Round 3 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.10 · Pick 146 · Frank Gore Jr. · RB · rank 165
A wild overpay on Frank Gore Jr. in slot 146, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.20 · Pick 156 · Aki Ogunbiyi · OG · rank 180
Aki Ogunbiyi at the 156th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Chau Smith-Wade · CB · rank 163
Nothing to complain about; Chau Smith-Wade went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Justin Eboigbe · DL-EDGE · rank 178
No edge and no loss on Justin Eboigbe in the 178th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 231
A straight-up fair deal on Nathaniel Watson at pick No. 232, value and slot in agreement. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R7.24 · Pick 244 · Collin Schlee · QB · rank 271
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Collin Schlee well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.28 · Pick 248 · Jordan Johnson · WR · rank 263
The board had cheaper options than Jordan Johnson at the 248th pick, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
