You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Eagles did exactly that with Jaden Hicks in pick 54. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Getting Elliss where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. With interior defensive lineman and quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
