The one they had to fix is still broken. The Eagles left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Every board in the league had Owens lower, and that gap is the story. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jermaine Burton at the 50th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A straight-up fair deal on Patrick Paul at pick 60, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Leonard Taylor III at pick No. 97 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tyler Owens well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
