Everything else got attention, and edge rusher got none. That is a strange way for the Eagles to leave a draft.
They will need Bishop to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
T.J. Tampa in pick No. 50 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremiah Trotter Jr.. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They paid up for Cole Bishop at slot 98 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
