Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles kept it disciplined and banked a B.

Somebody in the 125th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Jalen McMillan, the No. 81 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Lewis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.17 · Pick 17 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 19
In pick 17 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.6 · Pick 38 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 41
No drama and no debate, Tyler Guyton went about where he belonged in No. 38. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 76
Junior Colson in pick 75 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Jalen McMillan · WR · rank 81
Circle this one: Jalen McMillan at slot 125 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 154
Jaylen Wright at the 138th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.27 · Pick 163 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 141
You do not let a cornerback like Nehemiah Pritchett reach Round 5, Pick 27 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 162
The board had Joe Milton III higher than the Round 5 slot, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 183
A straight-up fair deal on Josh Proctor at No. 178, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Aaron Lewis · DL-EDGE · rank 288
Aaron Lewis in pick No. 243 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
