Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles bled value on every deal, hence the D.

Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. If Jefferson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Travis.

The veteran additions, Saquon Barkley chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Jackson Powers-Johnson · C · rank 29
By-the-book stuff, Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick No. 25 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R1.29 · Pick 29 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 25
In slot 29 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.14 · Pick 46 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 42
A tidy little value on Edgerrin Cooper in pick 46, a step better than break-even. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 60
No drama and no debate, Javon Bullard went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 26. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Gabriel Murphy · DL-EDGE · rank 88
Nothing to complain about; Gabriel Murphy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.34 · Pick 170 · Jordan Travis · QB · rank 157
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Travis in the 170th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 165
Luke McCaffrey in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 186
A reach on Jordan Jefferson in No. 178; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Caedan Wallace · OT · rank 180
They read the board right and Caedan Wallace was the payoff at slot 189. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
