The Eagles put a flag in the ground for Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, 181 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Put together, it is a D+.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
Getting Ewers where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 30 they get a bell-cow for the offense, though the board says they badly overpaid.
David Walker at slot 62 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Quinn Ewers in the 94th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached a country mile for Julian Fleming at the 132nd pick, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A real head-scratcher, Colbie Young in Round 5, Pick 21 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quincy Riley in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A big swing on Tyler Batty at No. 165, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
This one needs a full-page explanation: KJ Jefferson in pick No. 189, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Keaten Wade at Round 7, Pick 4 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They reached into another round for Agiye Hall, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
