Call it larceny. Jake Majors sat on the board until the 166th overall pick, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Stackhouse pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Carter pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with cornerback, edge rusher and other spots still on the board.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a mismatch in the passing game at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at the 63rd overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Sebastian Castro at pick No. 95 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Barrett Carter while clear needs at cornerback, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Taking Kevin Winston Jr. in Round 5, Pick 23 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nazir Stackhouse in slot 164 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at pick 166 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
