Nobody had Curtis Jacobs this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 48 spots to get him at the Round 5 slot.
Getting Odunze where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 28 they get a true top target, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kalen King in Round 2, Pick 14 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They did well to land Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyleik Williams in the 97th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tykee Smith in No. 136 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Cade Stover at the 137th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Curtis Jacobs. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A straight-up fair deal on Jack Nelson at Round 5, Pick 36, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had Zy Alexander higher than the Round 6 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in slot 206, where Keith Randolph Jr. graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Justin Eboigbe at pick 249 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
