Nobody had Trevor Etienne this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 128 spots to get him at the 184th overall pick. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Jones Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and James Pearce Jr. at pick No. 34 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Donovan Jackson in the 56th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kevin Winston Jr. at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Elic Ayomanor. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They robbed the room for Emery Jones Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A straight-up fair deal on Jihaad Campbell at pick 118, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Tyler Warren at No. 131 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board fumbled Jaxson Dart all the way to slot 140, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A big swing on Garrett Dellinger at pick 160, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
This one needs a full-page explanation: J.C. Davis in the 165th pick, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kyren Lacy this early at pick No. 166. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Trevor Etienne at the 184th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
No edge and no loss on Jared Ivey in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
