The Eagles looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took DeMonte Capehart at the Round 6 slot regardless, 84 picks early. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Guyton steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in the Round 2 slot, with Tyler Guyton worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Edgerrin Cooper went about where he belonged in the 54th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Zak Zinter at pick No. 97 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
James Williams at Round 4, Pick 11 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nehemiah Pritchett in No. 137 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A big swing on Jaylen Harrell at pick 176, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A real head-scratcher, Isaiah Neyor in Round 6, Pick 34 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
DeMonte Capehart at the 214th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
