If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. If Bullard pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 50 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A conviction pick on Javon Bullard at Round 2, Pick 22 that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tykee Smith. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Roger Rosengarten at slot 170 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
