Some picks age like wine; Logan Brown at the Round 7 slot will need to, sitting 89 spots clear of his grade. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Bullock at that price is a win they earned.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper at the 50th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nice patience on Calen Bullock, who had no business lasting to No. 59. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Mohamed Kamara at the 97th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cole Bishop slipping to pick No. 137 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
LaDarius Henderson in Round 5, Pick 27 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value said wait; Jared Wiley in the Round 5 slot says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jawhar Jordan in the 178th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They talked themselves into Logan Brown at pick No. 243, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
