Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Torrence: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Ro Torrence, the No. 177 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 219.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse. They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Rome Odunze · WR · rank 9
Rome Odunze in the Round 1 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 21
They will replay Chop Robinson at pick No. 50 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 58
No drama and no debate, Braden Fiske went about where he belonged in the 54th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
They barely believed it either: Jaden Hicks still on the board at slot 120. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.20 · Pick 156 · Theo Johnson · TE · rank 122
Theo Johnson at Round 5, Pick 20 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.25 · Pick 161 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 161
They took Dwight McGlothern at par in No. 161, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Nelson Ceaser · DL-EDGE · rank 165
Good price on Nelson Ceaser in the 171st pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Jordan Travis · QB · rank 172
Jordan Travis at pick 173 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Ro Torrence · CB · rank 177
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Ro Torrence in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Bub Means · WR · rank 245
By-the-book stuff, Bub Means at pick 245 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
