This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Quinshon Judkins, the No. 73 name on the board, stolen at Round 5, Pick 18. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. The Maxx Crosby deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
The Norman-Lott reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A premium they did not need to pay, Omarr Norman-Lott a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jihaad Campbell in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Mason Taylor at slot 133 is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They will replay Quinshon Judkins at No. 155 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They went early on Joshua Gray in the 161st overall pick, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
You do not let a safety like Billy Bowman Jr. reach the 165th pick and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
