Thirty-one other rooms let Cam Hart slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at pick No. 172. Highway robbery.
Toles has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kalen King at Round 2, Pick 18. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at slot 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They will replay Cooper Beebe at No. 97 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Beaux Limmer at pick 137 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kitan Oladapo in the 163rd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Cam Hart in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaylan Ford. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Toles well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
