Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Tyrone Tracy Jr., the No. 151 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 210. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
DeShon Elliott gives the group a proven body among the projects. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Junior Colson in No. 51, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
By-the-book stuff, T.J. Tampa at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Javon Foster. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on Hunter Nourzad in the 161st overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Walter Rouse at the 171st pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Somehow Kitan Oladapo was still sitting there in slot 172, and they pounced on premier safety value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tyrone Tracy Jr. in pick 210, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
