Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles let Smith fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Tykee Smith tumbling to the Eagles in Round 6, Pick 35 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Robinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.30 · Pick 30 · Ennis Rakestraw Jr. · CB · rank 35
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ennis Rakestraw Jr.. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 27
Somehow Tyler Guyton was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 18, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 53
A straight-up fair deal on Payton Wilson at the 54th pick, value and slot in agreement. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R2.30 · Pick 62 · Adisa Isaac · DE-EDGE · rank 51
A tidy bit of business in the 62nd overall pick, where Adisa Isaac graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · Johnny Wilson · WR · rank 126
Johnny Wilson at No. 120 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.20 · Pick 156 · Jaylin Simpson · CB · rank 136
Circle this one: Jaylin Simpson at pick 156 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.25 · Pick 161 · Layden Robinson · OG · rank 176
Layden Robinson in pick No. 161 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.29 · Pick 165 · Khristian Boyd · DL-EDGE · rank 168
No drama and no debate, Khristian Boyd went about where he belonged in slot 165. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 171
Malik Mustapha at the 171st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 132
Christian Jones at Round 5, Pick 36 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.31 · Pick 206 · Tanner McLachlan · TE · rank 208
Tanner McLachlan in pick No. 206 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.35 · Pick 210 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 160
Tykee Smith in the 210th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
