The one they had to fix is still broken. The Eagles left interior defensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
They banked enough surplus on Perry to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Harrell reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jackson Powers-Johnson. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 59 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No edge and no loss on Jacob Cowing in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Max Melton, who had no business lasting to pick No. 125. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Jordan Travis in No. 135, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
A quiet steal in slot 137: Tommy Eichenberg for less than the market said. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
They took Cedric Johnson at par in the 156th pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jaylen Harrell at Round 6, Pick 3 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Austin Stogner at Round 6, Pick 28 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Carson Steele in pick No. 248, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Mark Perry in the 250th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
