Nobody had Gentry Williams this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 101 spots to get him at pick 194. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The Mondon Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Spending an early pick on linebacker with edge rusher and quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 63 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Tyler Booker at the 68th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Harold Fannin Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tez Johnson at Round 3, Pick 31 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Barrett Carter adds a linebacker and leaves edge rusher and quarterback untouched.
Cam Skattebo at slot 160 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Cobee Bryant. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A safety of that caliber at the 166th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They liked Jason Marshall Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in the 177th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
