You build a draft on nights like this. Ainias Smith had no business being available in pick 171, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Mitchell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a home-run threat at receiver, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Kris Jenkins at the 50th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
