The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Terrance Ferguson, the Round 5 slot, roughly 40 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Gray has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Kenneth Grant higher than pick No. 32, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Donovan Ezeiruaku in slot 64 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Maxwell Hairston at the 96th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cam Skattebo in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Terrance Ferguson at the 162nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jay Higgins in pick 166 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Joshua Gray at Round 5, Pick 30 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It fills a real need, too.
