The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to J.J. McCarthy, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Eichenberg falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Raiders clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Kris Jenkins in No. 44 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Blake Corum in Round 3, Pick 13 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Cam Hart for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Mason McCormick at slot 148 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Tommy Eichenberg was still sitting there in pick 168, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
No edge and no loss on Caedan Wallace in the 208th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in the 223rd overall pick, where Evan Williams graded well above the range. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, JD Bertrand at the 229th overall pick. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
