The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named cornerback, a need the Eagles walked right past.
However the rest shakes out, Rosemy-Jacksaint at that price is a win they earned. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Edgerrin Cooper went about where he belonged in pick No. 50. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Good price on Cooper Beebe in No. 53, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Matt Goncalves at the 120th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy bit of business in the 161st overall pick, where Luke McCaffrey graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Tykee Smith come to them and pounced at slot 171. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Marist Liufau in pick 172 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is a better player than Round 6, Pick 35 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
