The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Jarrian Jones slide 36 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get juice off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper in the 50th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reach on Zak Zinter in Round 3, Pick 29; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Cole Bishop at pick No. 122 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kalen King in No. 171 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jarrian Jones in pick 172 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
