Start where it matters. The Vikings took Bo Nix to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
They will need Jones to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get the face of the franchise, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
They did well to land Chop Robinson in Round 2, Pick 10, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They liked Darius Robinson enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 4 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Cole Bishop in pick 130, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in pick No. 148 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
A straight-up fair deal on LaDarius Henderson at the 160th pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reach for Curtis Jacobs in the 166th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board had cheaper options than Jaylen Harrell at No. 179, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They talked themselves into Jayson Jones at pick 230, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
