The Eagles treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending No. 171 on Solomon Byrd a full 91 spots early.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. King at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
Xavier Worthy in the 53rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They did well to land Cedric Gray in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 157th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taking Kalen King in No. 161 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; Joe Milton III in pick 167 says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
