The Vikings ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
The McGregor pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.

J.J. McCarthy at Round 2, Pick 15 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on T'Vondre Sweat in pick No. 62, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid a round early for Darius Robinson in slot 109, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid sticker price for James Williams in pick 130, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A straight-up fair deal on Sione Vaki at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
