The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Smael Mondon Jr. fell into the 212th pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A real need, handled.
Wyatt Milum at slot 67 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Ashton Jeanty all the way to pick No. 71, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
Jahdae Barron at the 103rd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They robbed the room for Walter Nolen here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Somehow Dylan Fairchild was still sitting there in slot 151, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They will replay Tre Harris at Round 6, Pick 4 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Smael Mondon Jr. in No. 212 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They barely believed it either: Logan Brown still on the board at the Round 7 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
