Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Eagles never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Abrams-Draine. They will need Ford to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get a centerfielder for the defense. A clean fit for the roster.
Chop Robinson in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick 59 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Tykee Smith at Round 3, Pick 34 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A slide stopped in slot 137, with Kris Abrams-Draine worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They took Ty'Ron Hopper at par in the 156th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Zion Tupuola-Fetui at No. 172 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jaylan Ford in the 178th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Theo Wease Jr. in the 183rd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
