The needs board said one thing and the Vikings did another, using the 42nd overall pick on T.J. Tampa while quarterback, safety and other spots waited. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Hardy pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In pick 11 they get a sticky cover corner. More want than need.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 42nd overall pick on T.J. Tampa with quarterback, safety and other spots unsolved.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Nelson Ceaser. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Keith Randolph Jr. in No. 148; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in slot 160 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They paid sticker price for Grayson Murphy in pick No. 165, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Andru Phillips at the Round 6 slot. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Daequan Hardy at Round 7, Pick 10 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
